Eckert & Ziegler Manufactures Synthesis Cassettes for SCINTOMICS Molecular, att GmbH
Fürstenfeldbruck, 5 September 2023
Eckert & Ziegler Eurotope GmbH (Eckert & Ziegler) and SCINTOMICS Molecular, Applied Theranostics Technologies GmbH (SCI-att) have successfully started a long-term collaboration to produce disposable consumables for SCI-att’s proprietary GRP radiosynthesis platform.
Within the agreement, Eckert & Ziegler has started GMP-compliant production of the first batches of synthesis cassettes at its in-house clean room facility in Berlin. The contract cassette manufacturing is performed in a validated process that was audited by SCI-att at the beginning of this year.
“With this agreement, Eckert & Ziegler is opening up to external partners and making its expertise and capacities in cassette production available as a service from now on”, explained Dr. Sven-Peter Heyn, general manager of Eckert & Ziegler Eurotope GmbH. “We have manufactured hundreds of thousands of radiosynthesis cassettes for various applications using our Modular-Lab technology over the past decade. Now we are pleased that SCI-att also relies on our experience for these sensitive consumables used in the patient dose preparation of radiopharmaceuticals.”
“SCI-att radiosynthesis systems are used by numerous international clinics in the daily routine production of radiotracers”, stated Andrea Maugg, CEO of SCINTOMICS Molecular, ATT GmbH. “The quality and reliability of the cassettes is a fundamental prerequisite for safe patient care. In Eckert & Ziegler we have found a production partner that has already proven that they can provide both.”
Eckert & Ziegler’s clean rooms and manufacturing processes have already been successfully audited by various of its customers in the past. Transfer of custom-designed cassettes to a GMP-compliant routine manufacturing process follows the One-Stop-Shop idea and is an integral part of Eckert & Ziegler’s contract development and manufacturing services (CDMO) for radiopharmaceuticals, medical devices and beyond.
